On September 3rd, 2015, my husband Ron and I experienced the delivery of our daughter, Morgan Frances Batey, stillborn. The events of that day unfolded rapidly, requiring us to make numerous important decisions regarding arrangements such as funeral services, casket selection, flowers, the nature of the service, and considerations about an autopsy. We also had to determine what clothing would be appropriate for her photographs and burial. The support from my mother was invaluable during this time, for which we remain grateful.

Reflecting on the experience, it is clear that more guidance or additional time could have led us to make different choices regarding how we spent those moments with our daughter. Although we recognize that no amount of time could ever be sufficient, we now emphasize the importance of creating lasting memories during such circumstances. Our efforts focus on providing support to help other families avoid similar regrets by affording them the opportunity to spend more meaningful time with their loved ones. While it is not possible to prevent every loss, together we can work to ensure families have the time they need for both farewells and cherished memories, recognizing the significant value each moment holds.
